Good wine served personally/professionally by a great staff!

Because of the Pandemic, had to sit at a sidewalk table. They weren't busy, and very helpful. Be sure to have your cell phone as menu is received by reading a QR. Quick service and server wore mask the whole time. We had to have on one to enter, but I think they had a few extras there if necessary. Delicious Grilled Cheese sandwich, but no full menu of them.

It's all about the cheese and wine! They serve a variety of cheese plates and the best grilled cheeses you'll ever have. It's casual and fun.

At the Yelping Dog, you’re always greeted with a friendly smile. Their food and wine is outstanding!!! I highly recommend the Double Cheddar with Tomato Jam!!

What a delightful find! We dropped in for a glass of local wine and stayed for live music and yummy cheese plates. They offer a wide selection (well, as wide as Virginia wines get) of Virginia & other wines, craft beers, including daily features. Ask for a description of the cheese plates, each distinctly paired with fruit, nuts, olives, etc. We ended our meal with a locally baked dessert, listening to joyful, but not overpowering music. We’re returning for a second night!

Delicious cheese plate and artfully crafted grilled cheese! We thoroughly enjoyed the friendliness and quick service of the wait staff. We got the Lady Bird sandwich at their recommendation and it was amazing, same with the Better than Brie cheese plate. Great experience, even in outdoor seating in the late July heat! Shoutout to the beautiful town of Staunton.

Nice wine place, good tasting specialty grilled cheeses!

Came during the Harry Potter festival so it was absolutely packed. That didn't stop the staff from being attentive and providing great recommendations and service. They have a good beer selection for those, like myself, that are not as into wine. The cheese plates were great and provided a good snack/meal for a long day of exploring. Atmosphere is also really cool!

Was visiting from out of town. Unfriendly and snarky staff. Seemed like we weren't welcome so left after one glass. Yelping Dog viognier was ok, little too much RD for my taste.

Wonderful little wine shop with great food and a nice beer selection. A definite must visit when exploring downtown Staunton.

Had a wonderful afternoon snack and glass of wine with my friend. The food was fantastic the staff was great. Our server took the time to let us taste wine to help decide on what we wanted. The atmosphere was enjoyable. We plan on going back tomorrow.

Staff is very knowledgeable about the wines. This is our favorite place for a glass of wine and a snack.

We love having a little getaway like this in town! They are always getting new wines in and the cheese plates are scrumptious! The best deal is by the bottle or try out pours from the menu.

Always such a pleasure to visit this place. The staff is so sweet and they have a great selection of wines and craft beers to match the DELICIOUS cheese/meat plates. Very warm and inviting atmosphere. The dragon hook cheese plate is one of our favorites.

Wine and grilled cheese??? Who'd a thunk it? Excellent selection of wines and some of the best grilled cheese I've ever tasted. Great pairing suggestions by our waitress. Highly recommend trying the guacamole and goat cheese with a Malbec!

I was taking a walk with a friend and we decided to go in to see what the place was all about. So glad we did! From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated like a friend. They explain everything to you, offer samples. Very nice decor, great wait staff, clean, great food. This will become a regular place to go downtown!

Enjoyed a few glasses of wine on Valentine's Day with my husband. Wine was great, service was extra-attentive & the cheese plate was tasty! Great spot to relax in Downtown Staunton.

A wonderful find in downtown Staunton! Yelping Dog had an excellent Virginia Wine selection, the best grilled cheese I ever had (the COF), and the nicest owners on the planet. John and Nancy are wonderful. Their love of Virginia wine and great hospitality makes this a worthwhile stop if you are in the area.

Refined wine bar and light dining experience with incredibly reasonable pricing. Great date spot. Knowledgeable barstaff and a pretty extensive selection. To top it off, they often host free tastings on Wednesday evenings to benefit the Humane Society and similar nonprofits!

This was a very nice place, went one Saturday evening bought two bottles of wine and drank them there. There had love music that evening. You can order small plates like olives, and cheese tray. You can order a tasting, a glass, or a bottle of their wine.

Great food and wine! Pretty place too. I recommend buying a bottle of wine if you even might finish it, costs less than glasses.

Seriously cute place! The staff is super friendly but not really familiar with the wines. We struggled through sampling the wines by the glass. We figured out after the locals know the bottles and purchase those instead. Ask one of the regular patrons for a recommendation.

This is my new favorite place. It's quiet so we can talk. The food and service are great. Even the music is soothing and sophisticated.
